Along before The Gilded Gateway became a place to stay, this was an old miners' cabin in California's Gold Country.

The landscape around it has changed, but the setting still invites a little imagination. Sit on the porch, look across the property, and picture the people who once passed through here—the work, the conversation, the tools, and the activity that were once part of everyday life.

The Gilded Gateway is in a Bortle 4 area, offering notably dark skies for an easy evening of stargazing. Guests have repeatedly commented on the stars and the experience of looking up from the property at night.
